Shifting troubles

I have a 2002 Ford Ranger Manual Transmission. It has just under 100,000 kms on it and lately I have been having trouble shifting (even with the clutch to the floor, I cant get it into gear). I'm not to familiar with trucks, but the fluid levels seem to be good and I just had the truck tuned up and checked over a few months ago and all was well. At that time. As well, this problem comes and goes. Sometimes when I drive it, the clutching is normal. But I'll turn the truck off for 5 mins. And when I drive it again, it will give me troubles. Any tips would be appreciated!

Pull off the cap for the master cylinder for the clutch. It is a small round one, not to be confused with the Brake master cylinder. Be sure that fluid level is good. You may have a bad slave cylinder regardless.
Tranny would have to come out (ouch).
