Removing novelty stick ons.

I have a 2001 XLt ford ranger. Someone put one of those white novelty gaugeplate covers on it. How can I remove it? To replace the gauge plate is very exspensive. The cover is just a stick on.

The dash gauge plate, speedometer, fuel and so forth.

WD-40 works good to dissolve glue if you can keep it from getting into the sensitive parts.
