Engine lite ON, hard staring, rough idle

I have a 1998 Ford Ranger 3.0 V6 automatic 2 wheel drive 175,000 miles. Driven daily. The check engine lite has been ON for a few weeks and has ran fine until a few days ago. Sometimes when I first start it up, it turns over but doesn't want to start. Once it does start, it runs very rough for a minute or two and then it runs fine. While on the freeway, I can push the accelerator to the floor and there is no hesitation. The engine has new spark plugs and wires, new air filter. Any suggestions?

Go to autozone and get that OBD2 code/s extracted and comeback with it in order to start a diagnosis.
