Recently my temp gauge shot up to the red line ( I belive it's an electric gauge not a mechanical one?)So I added some 50\50 antifreeze and let engine cool over night next morning gauge shot up to red line? I thought how the hecik is this possible the engine is't even hot yet something else is wrong? I checked the exaust no smoke I checked wires (not too sure where to look for the temp gauge wire so I just guessed ) all looked ok?

If it overheats rather quick, the thermostat is usually the problem, stuck shut and not letting coolant flow into the radiator. Do not use a cooler range t-stat, use exactly what it calls for (usually 195)

Thank's for the input. I'm not too sure wher my t-stat is and if that will solve the problem cause it 's not really overheating just telling me that it is?

T-stat is where the upper hose meets the engine. You may not know it is overheating due to the fact that the hot water isnt making it out of the engine to boil over.
