Hello,

I have done a full brake job on my ranger. New calipers, wheel cylinders, new rotors, new drums. New complete rear brake lines. When I bleed the brakes I could not get a pedal, no matter how much I bleed them. So I got a new master cylinder and installed it. I still only get minor pedal when the brakes are bleed. I have done my own brakes for years and never had a problem like this. Also I am a maintenance supervisor @ a industrial company so working on machines is not new to me.

Any suggestions?

Pressure build up with vehicle off?

Any fluid leaking anywhere? Fill up the master cylinder resevoir and pump and pump and pump, does fluid go down any?

Post back.

I get more pedal with power off than with power on.

No there are no leaks. A broken main line to the rear line was what started this project. Now only thing on the rear lines that are original is the hose to the rear diff. Main line and both wheel feeders are new.

I am picking up a mityvac bleeder on the way home from work. I will rebleed the master cylinder. The abs pump in the frame behind the left front wheel and then bleed according to manual. Hopefully that will get them to pump up. My model only has rear abs.

Try the bleeder for sure. Deffinetely would be checking the master cylinder, thats for sure.

Good luck.
