We recommend replacing with direct fit parts. First, it is against the law to remove the converter, and second, the exhaust must exit the vehicle from beyond the passanger compartment. Thus, you shouldn't end it under the vehicle.
As far as the converter, you are going to cause other engine related problems by removing it. The O2 sensor will not send a signal to the computer. Therefore, the air / fuel mixture will be wrong.
Seriously, if you want the flowmaster sound, do it. But, you should have a converter and the exhaust should exit beyond the passanger compartment.
