1991 Ford Mustang, 2.3L, 100,000 +miles

I just bought this car. Plugged in the code reader and got DTC 90 and 222. I can not find anything about code 90. Any info on it all will be greatly appreciated.
My main concern is the DTC 222. Code reader gave me 998 (Operating in failure mode) as well as the other 2 codes. Anyway I have been told that the problem might be the ICM. Is there any way I can test this to make sure without buying a new. A new one will cost me over $100. :( While I am thinking about it the tachometer doesn't work either. Any help at all would be nice. I am also open to any other suggestions as to what might be causing the DTC 222. One more thing I have the DIS.

Thanks in advance for your help,
Jay

I'll tell you one thing, if the computer is NG, nothing else you see for codes is reliable! Solve this first.

So is there anything I can do to be sure that the ICM is bad? Or do I just have to replace it and hope that is what it is?

222 means it's not sending a signal to the ignition. Pre programed parameters being used, most likly running a bit rich You should be able to get a junk one for 10 dollars?

Ok problem fixed! Replaced the ICM. Now Tach works and throttle is very nice. After replacing ICM I pulled the codes again. All codes were gone. However a new code has surfaced. DTC: 538. Insufficient RPM change during KOEO dynamic response test.---I drove car for about 15 minutes to make sure car was at normal operating temp. Then performed test 3 times. I got the 538 each time. Any suggestions? Thanks for all your help.
