Can't get water pump to seal

1993 5.0 mustang. Can't get a seal on the water pump to timing cover. After installing water pours out the bottom where the pump mounts to timing cover.
Please help

First take a putty knife and some cleaner and clean the mating surfaces between the gasket and the water pump. Then get a BRAND NEW GASKET and install using some gasket sealer. Also check to see if the bolts are not spinning in the motor causing it not to tighten.
