88 5.0 Alternator

Hi, recently the alternator in my mustang went out so I was trying to remove it. I dont know how to untighten the tensioner. Can you guys please give me pointers of how to untighten it? Thanks!

Use a long wrench, attach it to the nut on the tensioner wheel and move the tensioner in the opposite direction of the belt

Perfect. Thank you I was able to replace it already. But new thing came up though. After I did it, the car started fine and the battery was getting charged but minutes ago I tried to turn start it again and it wouldnt start. I checked everything again and its not the battery or alternator now for sure. When I turn the ignition the engine doesn't go up to cranking speeds. I think its either the starter itself or the starter solenoid. Can it be anything else?

Does the engine turn, just slowly? If so it is probably the starter motor. If it doesnt turn over, go to solenoid and check for 12volts at the small wire when the key is in the crank position

The engine wants to start to turn but doesnt quite complete a single revolution. I just hope its not anything bigger than that. Like some internal engine parts like it happened to my mercury cougar. Thanks, I will write back as soon as I get back home and figure out.
