Yesterday while running errands my 2000 Mustang started to overheat. I pulled over, checked it and it was out of coolant, so I bought more and filled it, and it kept burning it off/leaking it out. Now I'm not sure where the leak is coming from except that it's front drivers side of the car, I'd assume it'd be a hose over there or something, but also there is steam and small amounts of coolant are coming out from under the coolant fill tank cap even though the cap is still perfect. I can't find where it's coming out at and I don't have any money to take it to a mechanic.

Follow your upper radiator hose towards the engine. That is your thermostat housing. Look very closely at the housing for a crack or coolant coming out. These are very common for cracking. Hope this helps.
