Hoping for even some basic info
34 Ford pickup- original straight axle is long gone.
trying to put a complete front end (with cross-
member) in place from a 1979 Pinto/Mustang ll.
If I can get a basic start placement to do tack-welds
and then adjust for reasonably close caster setting
the rest will be governed by having all independent
components in place already
Is there a way without the fancy alignment tools to
check the caster setting by somehow measuring the
differential between extreme left and extreme right?

Please and Thank You for any help !
P.S. The 34 is NON-MOVEABLE

Hi there,
Thank you for your donation.
Some job your taking on there.

In the past I remember we had Camber / Castor gauges (spirit level type) that you attached to the wheel hub, (magnetic base) Now this is going back well over 30 years and they were very old then! Very basic but they would do the job, You will just have to hunt around, they will be about some where still Very old country workshops or even a motor museum may help.
