hi my car is losing water over night after it as been used in the day there is no leaks and no water in the oil or oil in the water the top hose is cold but the bottom hose is hot and the tempure gage does not work could this be the thurmastat

replace the thermostat and have the coolant system pressure tested ... could be water pump !!
