idle speed

i have a focus 1.6 o2 1.6 lx when starting the car the rev counter is over 1000 when driving it is not too bad but if slowing down after driving at speed on the motorway the car is revving at over 2000 then gradually drops when i take my foot of the accelorator please help

Check your idle speed controller and clean out the throtttle body/plate.
