I have a 2wd 2001 f250 6.8l v10. I'm new to owning a truck and need to replace the rear leaf springs. What do i need to get as far as bushings, the leaf springs themselves AND is this even a job worth attempting on my own?

thanks,
chris

Hi there,

Only do this job if you are confident in your capabilities. It is heave work on your own, and if the spring "U" bolts are rusty, you may never get them apart with out an Oxy set. You should be replacing all bushes, insulating pads if fitted and i even replace the shackle bolts. I feel that you should leave it to an expert, less drama and less headaches for you.

Welp, if anyone's interested, I did the job myself and it was a great success. The truck rides great and I saved a ton of money! Thanks for responding to my question Mark. :D
