Engine Mechanical problem
1970 Ford F250 V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic unk miles

Hi. I have a 1970 Ford F-250 with the 360. Last year upon rescuing the truck from a field, I did a complete overhaul including new fuel pump and filter. The truck has run fine until recently. It was parked, but occasionally started, over the past few months. I am unable to get fuel to the pump or carb. There is no fuel coming into the filter ( clear ). I thought that I might be low on fuel, so I have added about 6 gallons with no luck. I tried removing the fuel line at the top of the in cab tank and poured gas into it to confirm it wasn't plugged. It wasn't. Any ideas? Should I add more fuel? I replaced the fuel filter and pump again with no luck. The truck has been parked leaning to the right on a slight grade. Stumped

These trucks with the tank behind the seat have been noted for rusting off the fuel pickup tube inside the tank so they will only suck air. TEST, take a piece of 3/8" plastic tubing or fuel line and extend your tank fuel line so you can push into the "filler neck to the bottom of the tank. Plastic tubing works the best 'cause you can see the fuel moving through the line. Do this, and I'll bet she'll pop right off.

OK. Will try tommorow. I understand the I need to place tubing down through the pick up tube to the base of the tank to route the fuel up through to the pump?
