Overdrive?

I have a 1997 f-150 4.2 2wd. It has 117000 miles. When I am driving the overdrive shuts off. I had a code checked ran on it it came back pressure regulater short. What does that mean. Now I had it checked again and that code dont show anymore it says EGR problem. Would that cause my overdrive to kick off?

Not sure had an auto repair center do it for me and I didnt catch the code.
