I have a 1993 F150 with the 4.9 straight 6 auto trans with 84000 miles on it. The issue is when I am driving as I get up to around 35 to 40 mph the truck shakes. If I slow down some it stops if I speed up it will do it again but it wont do it all the time. What could this be a transmission problem or something else?

If your truck has a split driveshaft it's likely might be carrier bearing if not you can check the play in the rear differential.
Perform these checks if the issue does not affect the steering wheel.

Have you changed the transmission fluid lately? I know in my tbird it would do the exact same thing. They told me that it was breakdown of the tranny fluid. As soon as I got it changed it did it once more and hasnt done it since.
