In the morning when my truck has sat for hours it starts up and runs find for about 20 minutes. Then when I come to a stop it idles really low and dies out. I have to press on the gas to keep it running. Not sure whats wrong with it.

It could be a couple things. First, has the check engine light come on? Have you removed the EGR to make sure it isn't carboned and not working properly? Have you checked for vacuum leaks? Finally, my first guess is the idle air control valve; however, I need to know if the check engine light has been on.

Let me know.

Yes the check engine light was on, and a friend of mine hooked it up to diagnostic machine and it didn't say what the problem was.

If the check engine light was on, either he should have gotten a trouble code or a "no bus" code indicating there was no communication between the computer and its components. Are you sure he had the proper type of scanner?
