Engine Mechanical problem
2004 Ford F150 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic

My husband blew the engine in his f150 truck. What kind of price range is normal for a rebuilt engine? He seized up the engine, should we tear it down or scrap it for a rebuilt?

If it is locked, chances are you are better off replacing it. A new engine from a dealer is going to be around 5K based on where you live. I know many of the nationally recognized parts stores sell remanufactured engines with a warranty for around half the cost. Or, you may find a good one in a salvage yard.

Let me know if you have other questions.
