Engine problem
2000 Ford F150 V8 147546 miles

for some reason my boyfriend's truck starts shaking or jerking when it rains. After a while the check engine turns on he says that is because the spark plugs get wet. How can we solve the problem. Or is it the fuel filter.

please help thanks! :]

Have your boyfriend replace the spark plug wires and spark plugs. ***Be sure to use motorcraft spark plugs and wires, on this engine its important to use factory parts, in my opinion. Hope this helps.

You must have the cop system which means coil over plug. Each cylinder has its own coil. You can have him go to your local autozone and they will scan the computer for free, get back to us with the code and we can find out exactly what cylinder is having the problem. *Most likely that coil will have to be replaced, but dont worry they are inexpensive.

Ohh O.K. Thank You.

But can it be possible for the spark plugs to get wet. Or why is it that every time that it rains the truck starts to shake.

Or is there another problem. With the truck. That every time it rain it shakes.

Thanks.

No he is right. But its probably the coil that is shorting out not the plug. But it will give you the exact same symptom. When this comes into my shop I would scan for codes and replace all spark plugs and replace the coil on the cylinder that is misfiring when wet.
