When buying a pre owned engine how can you find out the actual mileage of the engine?

Hello,

There is no real way to get an exact milage of a preowned engine unless the owner has writen it down when it was removed. You can guess at a possible milage by the year and an average miles driven per year. So say it is a 2000 engine and the owner bought it new and put 12,000 a year, so 9 times 12,000 or 108,000 miles.
