2 days ago, my 1999 Ford F-150 4.2L V6 started losing oil on the driver's side of the block somewhere. I haven't had a chance to look closely, but is it possibly the OSU, if the oil is coming from that area? It is coming from somewhere above the oil pan seam for sure. The engine was running good when last turned off. The next morning, oil was discovered on the driveway under that side. Looking for a starting point.

I don't remember where the sending unit is on a 4.2, but I have seen them leak oil where the plastic is crimped to the metal so that sounds like a good place to start........

For information's sake, I found something surprising. My oil filter had a crack in it. First time for me with this problem. What seems weird is that the filter had been on there for 2000 miles but just start leaking. Thanks for the advice.
