Suggested Repair

Drain the fuel tank, drop the tank, and repair or replace the in-tank fuel pump. An inline high-pressure pump cannot be substituted without removing the tank. Keep all ignition sources away because gasoline is explosive.

Conversation Summary

The expert said no and advised draining and dropping the tank before repairing it, with a warning that gasoline is explosive and smoking or sparks must be avoided.
