I have a 1994 F-150 extended cab with a 5.0L engine. I’m swapping the complete rear end from an S847F (3L55 88 4A03) with a 1996 S838M (3 55 88 5L02). My truck has a rear stabilizer bar installed and the 1996 truck did not. Does this coincide with whether one is a Trac-Lok or not? If I reinstall the rear stabilizer bar, will it have an affect (good or bad) on the performance of the new rear end or the truck handling qualities?

I would recommend taking the door panel apart to see what is going on inside before you buy anything. Are you able to put it back up by rolling it up, or do you have to pull it up manually? I have seen many windows were the glass came off of the scissor frame (Regulator). This happens alot in the winter if you try to open frozen windows. If this is what happened you have to pull the window up manually and can probably just re-attach the glass in the frame and not have to re-place it. You say it falls slowly. This does fit with something in the regulator or crank loosening up and not holding enough upward force on the glass. If this is what is wrong you can roll it up the normal way. I am not familiar with how the regulator is made in your vehicle, but you may be able to tighten a nut or bolt to stop the window from comming down. I don't think you have electric windows but if you do a shorted switch can also cause the window to come down buy itself. If this is what is wrong you can roll the windows up the normal way, and you can test for resistance in the switch.
