I have a 95 F-150 with 125K mi on it. Recently while driving in traffic I noticed that my truck would try to shut off when I let off the brakes in gear. I had heard in the past that Ford is notorious for having issues with its Idle Air Control Valve. It is a valve that sits on the left side of the throttle body. Take it off, clean it with throttle body, not carb cleaner and put it back on. If you problem still persists, take it back off, leave it plugged in. Have a buddy turn the ignition to the RUN position and observe the inside of the valve it should move, if it doesn't you will need to try to clean it better or all out replace it.
