I just put a motor in my f150. I change water pump and a thermostat before I put it back in th vehicle, after I starter this used engine it stated ok, but after a feww minutes it starts to shake, and it shut off, I notice that water is not circulating thru the radiator, could thid be causin the engine to shut off. And waht can I do next?

Did it over heat? Could the radiator be plugged? Are you sure the coolant is full throughout the engine? As far as the no start, coolant not circulating won't cause the engine not to start, but over heating it can cause problems.

Let me know.

I took the thermostat out and ran the vehicle w/out it and the water pump seem to be worj king ok, what I notice was that the water was like brownish like color, like rusted out, I change water but it steel coming out rusted like, the car runs for few minutes but it shuts off if I press the acelerator and take acelarator out it shuts off. It is my first time changin a motor on a ford van everything is wekll conected but it does chakes and goes to normal and then shakes again few times and the shuts off.

It sounds like the cooling system needs flushed again. The brown is rust that is in the block. As far as the engine. Are you sure the timing is right and the vacuum advance is working?
