I was driving down the road and the truck made a ZING sound and quit going. I guided it out of the traffic and stopped. It would not move. Almost like it was stuck in neutral. Wondering if maybe if the pump went out or is the tranny gone? I put in a new tranny about 2-3 yrs ago and do not drive the truck much so I doubt there is even 30,000 miles on it. Any ideas would be GREATLY appreciated.

First, I will assume the drive shaft is still connected. Next, make sure the ATF is full. Finally, remove the inspection plate between the trans and engine. Make sure the torque converter is still connected. If all looks good, you will need to remove the pan to see if there are any metal shavings in it.

Let me know what you find.
