Lock in my transmission head

Hi sir I've ford explorer 1996, limited, 149000km, nothing with it, but the gear head which I catch to chage from P to R, is coming too defficult, and I press the breack arm to the end in strong but it's didn't want to move it's look like lock. Whats the problem and what should I do?

I solve the problem by disconnect and reconnect the brack light ignition, thats it, sir you can trust this lovly truck couse it is the best, which drive safely.
