Installing a water pump

I have a 1995 ford explorer and it has about 97,000 miles on it and I was woundering how to install a new water pump in the car? Is there anyway I can get a step by step directions on how to do this?

1st drain coolant using petcock on the rad. Then remove the rad hoses, you have to remove the fan using the nut on the front of it. Once the fan is loose you can unbolt the plastic rad shroud and take the fan and shroud out at the same time. Then take the rad out. Loosen the bolts holding on the pulley, once they're loose you can take the serpentine belt off. You should be able to remove all of the bolts holding the water pump on now, it may be a little ackward but I managed to do it this way and saved time from removing stuff unnecessiarly. Make sure to scrape the old gasket off of the block before installing the new one. I also use a small amount of automotive silicone with the gasket just to be sure of no leaks. Thiss may cuase a little headache the next time you change it, but it does ensure a leak free instalation. Hope that is enough info to get you going. Good luck
