2002 Ford Explorer Not blowing correctly

Air cond. Is blowing through the defroster and floor but not thru the front vents. Seems to be blowing fine through the rear vents.

Sounds like a vacuum source problem. There should be a small plastic vacuum line that goes through the firewall to the engine. Be sure it is hooked up to the engine. If not there is no vacuum to run the heater controls, this is why it only works on defrost, that is the default when there is no vacuum present at the control head
