I started having trouble starting my truck about a month ago. I check the battery, it's less than a year old. I cleaned the cables but still have trouble have starting the truck from time to time. If I shack the cables I can start the truck. I also noticed the interior light of the cab do not work, but the head lights do. Could this be a cable issue? Starter?

I would start by checking for loose connections from the battery and make sure the battery terminals are clean and tight. Also, check the ground to the engine block to make sure it is clean and tight. If no problems are found, remove the starter and have it bench tested at a parts store. Most do it for free hoping to sell a new starter. Also, since when you shake the wires it works, that sounds like where the problem is.

Let me know what you find.
