The AC working when the car is moving but not when standing still. Freon levels are fine (full). Any ideas? Thanks!

Does the auxiliary fan work? It is the fan in front of the A/C condenser that moves the air when you are stopped. It should run when you turn on the A/C.

The Explorer does not have an auxiliary fan. But it should as the AC doesn't work that well without it (that is found on other more expensive models).

I took it to the dealer and they said that they replace the AC relay and did not charge me anything. I wasn't able to get a good answer from them on what they did but it is now working much better. Still having some difficulty handling the intense heat of Atlanta summers (90 - 100 degrees F) but I suspect that the design being without the auxiliary fan is what makes it not work very well when accelerating or standing still.

It is working much better though so I'll leave it at that.

Thanks!
