Transmission problem
1997 Ford Explorer 6 cyl Manual

I just replaced the transmission, flywheel, and clutch on my 97' ford explorer. Once the car was back together it was running great and then on my way home from town the transmission was slipping out of gears. It finally got to the point where I had no third gear and it was very hard to get into every other gear. I got the car into the garage and it shifts out of gear and into nuetral, but when I take my foot off the clutch its still stuck in gear. I tried messing with the shifter pins and everything is lined up, my only solution is to replace the whole tranny again, but im hoping maybe theres another solution. Any suggestions?

This is a good one. From what I understand, you are stuck in on gear. Is that correct? Also, you lost only 3rd gear? With the engine off, can you shift through all gears or are you still stuck in only one? Finally, before replacing the transmission, did you have it apart for anything, is it from a salvage yard, and is there a warranty on it? Have you drained the fluid from it to check for metal shavings, dirt?
