Brakes problem
1996 Ford Explorer 4 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic 175k miles

Hello,
Whenever I step on the Brakes while driving my front end shakes as well as the peddle. I figured I needed brakepads and routers. Well, when I got new ones I still had that problem. I have no Idea what is causing it.

Do you still feel a pulsation in the brake pedal? Is the steering wheel still shaking? Has the vibration changed at all since the work?

I have a 96 explorer with the same problem. My mechanic disconnect the sensor wires at each front wheel and it solved the vibration problem, but you will not have anti-lock brakeing in the front. What is happening is the 1 sensors are reding 2 different speeds so they try to compensate your braking giving you the vibration. $300 fix im told by my mechanic so I just had him disconnect the sensors. Also your ABS light on the dash will come on.
