For the past few months, My vehicle's air won't get cold, it just blows hot air. When I am driving, it blows very hot heat from the floor board and through the very top vents by the windshield. The faster I drive the hotter and stronger it gets. It has a new carborator, a machine at this shop checked for leaks and put free-on in it. It also has anti freeze in it. Someone said maybe the heat is stuck on, but why would it only come out the bottom and top vents and not all?

It sounds like two different problems. First, if the freon is full and the compressor is cycling, the AC should be working. However, there is a vent door called a blend door. Its purpose is to allow either heat in the vehicle or AC. If it is stuck or not working and is stuck in the heat position, that is all you will get. It is located near the heater core.

Next, if the air flow only comes out the defroster and heater, then you have a vacuum leak. Air flow vents are actuated by vacuum. If there is leak, you will lose control of the flow direction.

Have the blend door checked. NOTE: Both problems can be caused by a vacuum problem.

Let me know what you find.
