I am thinking about buying this 91 ford explorer and ive heard that heads are somethings that often explorers have trouble with. Is this true? And how much do heads usually go for? And are there any other major problems with Explorers that I should take notice of?

Is there a concern with the heads? As far as I know, they are good vehicles and have no real problems. THe only concern that I have come to see over the years is the rear shackles (that hold the leaf springs) rust and break which can be dangerous. If you live in a non corrosive area, chances are that won't be a problem.

If you have a specific concern about the heads, let me know. Honestly, both the 3.0 and 4.0L V6 engines are good engines.
