2000 Ford Expedition battery light/ battery draining

My battery light came on, I had my battery replaced cause it was under warrenty. Put the new battery in everything was fine. Next time I start it the battery light is back on I hear a noise the noise is coming from above the battery in a small box. The battery is draining and dieing while battery light is on, I can hear this noise and it smells like something is burning around the battery now my battery is drained again.

Get the alternator load tested if okay. Check the electrical system for a short circuit that can be causing the battery to drain overnite.
