While I was in traffic car just died.I pushed it to the side road and tried 2 start it and it would just turn over and not start. Fuel was at 1/4 and plugs had been changer last month.I walked to auto store and bought starter fluid and sprayed it in throttle body and it started up then died. Did it again and when it started tried to give it some gas and it died. Funny thing my check engine light did not come on and when I turned the key to the on position it still does not come on. Does this mean anything.

Well first thing don't use starting fluid in an injected car not good on injectors and if it backfires it will take out sensor. Use throttle body cleaner instead. With what you have discribed sounds like your fuel pump died. So I would check the fuel pressure and see what it is and if there is no or low fuel pressure then plan on replacing the fuel pump and fuel filter. Let me know what you find.

Well, I dropped the gas tank and changed the fuel pump. Also changed the fuel filter while it was downtook us 7 hours to put back together because of stubborn screws and that doggone plastic cap cover over the sending unit on top of gas tank, would not line back up. Well after that. We tried 2 start it and it still did not start.I put a little more gas in it and tried it again and it only turned over and did not start.I dont know why it doesn't go. We put everything back. But maybe the pressure is not in lines and we don't know how to do that without vaccum pump. And which valve to put pressure in. Also my check engine light does not come on while key is in on position. Is my ecm bad and causing all this ruccus. Please help, hope its not the computer. NEED HELP!

Have you checked to see what fuel pressure is. You do not need to bleed these systems they will bleed themselves. I didn't intend for you to just go and replace the pump. There is more to the fuel system then that. If the old pump was bad and cause a spike in voltage it may have blown the fuel pump fuse or fuel pump relay. Also check the fuel intertia switch that is under the right side of the dash. It should be a black switch with a red or white square button on it push that button. Now the fuel pump relay is on under the hood in the power dist. Box in the left fender. Check fuse number 19 should be a 20 amp. Also check fuse 30 it should be a 30 amp this is to the ECM. Let me know what you find here ok and we will take it from there.

I checked both fuses and they r good but the relays r hard to check because how they r made. All black so I put a timing light on the connections and there was power. But when I tried to start it this morning it tried to go but it didnt quite catch. Do u think the plugs have fouled out. Or should I test the coil pack. Or should I change the wires.6 r old and 2 have been changed. They were bad.

I found the fuse underneath the steering wheel for the pcm diode # 30amp was blown.I changes it and tried to start truck again and the fuse blew again. Does this mean the pcm/ecm need to be changed are they the same thing pcm and ecm.

Ok does this fuse have a number for it is it fuse number 30? Also I need to know if you have a digital multi meter and some wire to make jumpers with? I would like to test the PCM relay in the fuse box that is under the hood. Let me know if you comfortable enough with doing this. I will give you instructions so we can see if that relay is good or not. I would also like you to check fuse number 8 in the under hood fuse box it is a 20 amp. Get back to me and we will go from there. Thanks.
