I was wondering what could possible be wrong with my 1985 Ford Escort 4 cylinder (2.5L) 120,000. My boyfriend changed my starter 3 times within a month and after the last time it just wouldn't turn over or anything. If you turn the key you have lights and all that (battery things). But it will not click when turned over or anything. Could you please hellp me I have been without my car for months.

Have you tried jump-starting the car to get it to turn? Or you could take the battery out and take it to auto-zone or checkers and have them test it for you.

Did he replace the starter with brand new ones each time? Or were they rebuilt?

Sounds like it's time to do some testing. Did he have the starter tested to see if it was actually bad. Most Fords have a starter relay, but usually is this is bad changing the starter would not help. It's possible it could be either in the wiring or the ignition switch. And like they said above I would test the battery.
