Ford CCRM AC relay

I have a 1997 Ford Escort with a bad relay on the AC CCRM. I tried replacing it with the radio shack relay fix. The relay clicks constanly when 12 volt power is supplied and I am getting odd voltage readings at the output pins 21 and 23.

What should 21 and 23 read? 12 volts each?

Can I wire a regular 12 volt relay outside the CCRM and bypass the internal one?

What is the function of pin 21? Is it the ground to the compressor? So is 23 supposed to read 12v if measrued across 21(-) and 23(+) while the relay is engaged?

Also the relay is a five pin. Does the fifth post accomplish anything?

Sorry, I can't find a wiring diagram for your car showing numbered terminals on the CCRM. According to the post I gave you, 22 and 15 are for the coil of the relay and 21,23 are the contacts, meaning one of them is 12volts with the ac switch turned on and the other goes to the ac clutch. Measuring across 21, 23 will not give you a reading, you have to go individually to ground. Also to test the relay, put your voltmeter + on 22 and - on 15. If it's showing 12 volts, and the relay is not operating it's bad.
