Car Heat.

I have a 1995 Ford Escort, which I have owned for approximately one year. Since purchasing the vehicle, there has been no heat or A/C in the car. I had the thermostat replaced, which kicked the heat up about 1/2 degree. A friend suggested that I have my system flushed and refilled. However, money is tight and I don't want to waste the money if this isn't the problem. Any ideas on what could be the problem and how much it would cost to fix it?

Flush and check is the cheapest place to start it may be something inside ( heater door not opening or the selector for heat not working correctly both of these require some dash dissassembly so make sure all your heater switches are working correclty before you do anything. Just move them back and forth and you should be able to hear/feel the air changing from each option.
