First thing I would do is pull the codes from the computer.
I wouln't be surprized at a dpfe or iac valve problem. The iac valve can be cleaned and often with success.
If the the fault code is something to the effect of restricted egr flow, I would lean towards the DPFE.
I assume the plugs and the fuel filter have been changed by now.
