My ZX2 runs fine (2.0L DOHC Zetec) but I noticed that there is a groaning noise at the front of the engine. When I remove the dipstick while it's running, there is a loud inrush of air and the groaning noise stops. I know that there is supposed to be a vacuum in the crankcase but this seems excessive. Is there a valve or something that's supposed to control the vacuum that is plugged of something? Thanks for any help

The problem is right on the intake manifold. There is this one hose right on top of the intake manifold or on top on a 2.0 split port engine. That goes from the intake manifold to the pcv valve, where the hose connects to the intake manifold that is your problem. I am not sure what is called because I never had to order the part, I got from another engine. This was driving me crazy but I finally found it.
