For the escort LX can the engine come out without pulling the transmission. The valve seats fell into engine, going to replace head with rebuilt. Pistons have to come out because of aluminum debris. Would like to pull engine by unbolting from transmission and pulling engine from the top. Need to pull engine to remove head bolts that broke off during the head removal process

they are supposed to come out the bottom but if it's an automatic you might have enough room to pull it out. if it's a stick then no or you need to pull the trans first then the engine.
