We may have the same problem with my 94 ford escort. Almost sure it is not the batterie but it doesn't hurt to check that. But I think it is the alternator (it keeps producing electricity to the whole engine after you turn on your car). A good way to know it for sure is to find a multimeter to test the batterie/alternator. The minus side pole of the multimeter on the minus side of your batterie and same for the positive then put your multimeter on DC 20. If your batterie is good the reader of the multimeter should show 12 volts and above. Now to test your alternator, your need to turn on your car. Usually if you boost your batterie your will be able to turn on your car. Do is an what your multimeter reading. It should be at least 1-2 volts above your previous reading (like around 14 + volts). If it is not the cause, you have more likely an alternator problem.
Hope it helps
