DID YOU ACTUALLY CHECK THE OIL YOURSELF AFTER THE "PAID CHANGE" WAS DONE?
YOU ARE THE ONE THAT IS ULTIMATELY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE TASK
YEP, SOMETIMES THEY'LL FORGET TO PUT IN THE OIL, PUT THE DRAIN PLUG IN, ETC, ETC. THE ONE THAT "STARTED" ON YOUR RIG, MAY NOT BE THE ONE WHO "FINISHED" IT. YOU ARE AT THEIR MERCY!
YOUR OWNER'S MANUAL ALSO PRESCRIBES CHECKING THE OIL AND COOLANT LEVELS WEEKLY
WHY! ANYTHING MIGHT HAPPEN IN JUST ONE DAY'S TIME, A WEEK IS A LONG TIME. DOING IT WEEKLY, KEEPS YOU IN TUNE AS TO WHETHER YOU ARE HAVING A "WHERE IS MY JUICE GOING" ISSUE?
MOST OIL CHANGE PLACES DON'T TELL YOU THAT YOU WERE 3 QUARTS LOW IN A 5 QUART SYSTEM (OR MUCH OF ANYTHING). THEY TAKE YOUR MONEY AND DO THEIR THING. LONG ENGINE LIFE DEPENDS ON HOW WELL YOU TAKE CARE OF THINGS.
I PRESENTLY DRIVE A 1977 JEEP CJ-5 AND A 1946 WILLYS JEEP (ACQUIRED IN 1991). I REBUILT BOTH ENGINES IN 1995, BOTH ARE DRIVEN ALMOST DAILY (I'VE ONLY OWNED "REAL JEEPS" SINCE I STARTED DRIVING IN 1981)
THE WIFEY HAS AN "03 ESCAPE" AND WE HAVE A '95 NEON AS A "SPARE"
EVERY SATURDAY, I CHECK 'EM ALL, TO INCLUDE AT LEAST A 5 MILE TRIP IN THE NEON TO KEEP THINGS LUBRICATED
SO FAR, I'VE HAD NO OIL OR COOLANT ISSUES. HOWEVER I DO "OVER" MAINTAIN MY VEHICLES, AS I CANNOT AFFORD A NEW ONE (NOR WOULD "I" WANT ONE!)
KEEP US POSTED AS TO HOW YOUR ISSUE IS PROGRESSING
