My car would start fine except some time it was like it had a dead spot in it so I put a new starter in it and now it wont turn the new starter over wat is wrong im losing my patience

If it was starting with the old one but it had a flat spot where it didn't start some time
and know you go and install new starter and it doesn't start at all
I would think its a bad starter or you missed a wire some how
recheck the wiring and check starter solenoid
