2002 Ford Escape

2002 ford escape 2wd. Cleaned engine compartment started up car after washing engine compartment started fine moved the car back 20ft, then disconectted the battery cables to clean. When we hooked the battery back up the vehicle will not move.
Checked the shift cable, it is moving when you move the shift lever into gear.

Hi
Most likely got water into PCM terminals and/or shift selector switch. Not a good idea to pressure clean engine way to many electronics.

I have checked the pcm terminals along with all other plugs any other ideas

Yes if you are talking about the sensor on top the tranny with the rod that runs through the tranny, you can see the rod rotate when you change shift positions.

That is an electronic switch it needs to signal PCM what gear is selected and PCM signals trans control solenoids. In no signal trans thinks it is in park or neutral.
