2000 Ford E150 5.4 Liter SOC Conversion Van, 80,000 miles

My van has 80,000 miles on it and I have notice that the ride has been deteriorating lately. I figured it was time to replace the shock absorbers. After inspecting the front end, I found that there are no shocks or struts installed. Only coil springs.

Question: Is this normal to have this setup, I have never seen an arrangement will no damping device? Coil springs only.

Question: Can shocksstruts been added to improve the ride. I see that there are shocks installed on the rear axle.

Well I don't know where they went, But when Ford built it, it had em! Here is how they are installed so you can put the socks back on. Check out the images (below). Let us know if you need anything else.
