I've got an 85 crown Vic, 302 with about 89000K miles on it.

it's got 2 problems.
first off the car accelerates on it's own. Put it in gear and it goes you don't have to touch the petal, the spedometer just keeps climbing and it fights the brake when applied.
My husband said it was the choke and turned it off (or unplugged something) a year ago. After that the acceration problem was solved but the car stalled in the cold after idling in drive.
a year later the car starts stalling everytime it idles in drive. At stop lights, stop signs even when the engine is hot it stalls, itdrive, itwould still run okay in park, so I had to park at all stoplights.
we were told possible try to change the trottle position sensor. My husband replaced that last night and now the car will not idle in any gear, it stalls as soon as it is turned ou or as soon as it is moved out of park into a different gear. I can't even move it to get to a mechanic and we have no idea where to begin looking for a solution.

It is on the distributor. You may have to turn the distributor to get to the nuts.
